Hope that black cloud over your head has started moving away so you can live in peace and comfort. You've been through so much!

Hi Dodie,
The ceremonies at Mt Pleasant cemetery were moving and sad at the same time. We visited 5 war memorial sites and at each one we heard a speech, one patriotic song and a playing of taps.
I did get to say hello to many people I don't see often. Also got to chat with the Police Chief Juliann Flaherty, State Representative Sean Garballey, Jeff Chunglo - the Arlington Director of Veteran's Services and numerous veterans. Sadly, that was Jeff's last day in office as he is moving to Delaware. All in it was a good experience.
Art was a real gentleman. I first met him when I had my first job - a paper route in East Arlington working for his parents out of their garage. Throughout our time at the Junior High East and Arlington High he was always ready with a quick smile and greeting. All the best, Art!
I too was very surprised to learn of Mel's passing. He and I lived a block apart growing up and saw each other casually when walking Mass Ave for many years after high school. He was a kind guy with a quick rush to a smile and laugh at every encounter. He did LOVE his record collection! Rest in peace, Mel.

Phyllis - just in case I don't get back to this page in the next two weeks, have great birthday! The old neighborhood is changing dramatically. The house I grew up in was sold and the Egan household on the corner of Herbert Rd was sold. We're now living in a new condo opposite the Capital theater.
