Event Details

The AHS 60TH reunion (class of 1964) will be held on Friday, September 20,
2024, and on Saturday, September 21, 2024.  Please register by August 1st so that we can plan the activities.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2024

The “main event” will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Menotomy Grill
Restaurant, 25 Massachusetts Ave, East Arlington. The cost is $60.00 per person and is payable
on line via credit card, debit card or by check payable to ‘64 Reunion Committee. Mail the check to Tom Falwell, 21 Greenside Lane, Acton, MA  01720.

The restaurant parking lot is deceptively large and long. We encourage people to drive toward the rear
portions of the lot to find additional parking spaces. Parking is available on Massachusetts Avenue as well.

The Grill requires a “hard number” of attendees by September 10, 2024 and an attendee guarantee by September 13th. Everyone must sign in upon entering so we can have an accurate count. There will be a cash bar. The Grill encourages everyone to pay for each drink when served. Appetizer type food
will be provided. We will have access to one side of the Grill.

There is an AHS football game at AHS scheduled for 6 pm on Friday night.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024
Saturday is Arlington’s Town Day. Massachusetts Ave. is closed between
Pleasant Street (Rt. 60) and Jason/Mill Street from 9:15 am to 6:15 pm as well as
access to Massachusetts Ave. from adjoining side streets.

A tour of the Jason Russell House.has been arranged for 8:45 am (Limit of 12, first 12 to register to take tour only). [If there is interest by more than 12, we might be able to schedule a 2nd tour but, if so, that would likely conflict with the AHS Tour.]

We scheduled a tour of the new AHS on Saturday beginning at 10 am taking 45-60 minutes. The tour is led by students from the Bridge Builders Club. We will meet at 10 am on Saturday at the front door of AHS on Massachusetts Avenue. The cost is $10.00 per person payable in cash at the door. Please register for the tour if you plan to attend.

Before the tour, we suggest parking behind AHS. We don't believe we will have tour access from the rear of the school so you would need to walk down Millbrook Drive and up to Mass Ave to get to the front entrance.   Alternatively you might be able to park in the Stop & Shop parking lot or find a parking spot on Mass. Ave or one of the streets off of the avenue (Vehicles heading west on Massachusetts Ave. will take right onto Mystic Street, a left onto Summer Street and a left onto Mill Street driving around barriers. Vehicles heading East on Massachusetts Ave. will take a left at Mill Street. Once on Mill Street, turn onto Millbrook Drive for access to parking lot behind AHS. Parking in the town lot behind St. Agnes church is an option but may require meter payment and then walking to AHS or possibly having a shuttle if people are interested).

For those interested, you can then proceed to the Donut Villa Restaurant in Arlington Center. It’s on the left side of the center at 319 Broadway Plaza before the fire station. Getting there by noon is the goal. We have secured the back room in the rear for lunch (each person will pay on their own). Donut Villa Brunch Club and Bar | American diner (donutvilladiner.com)  If we have at least 20 people, we can have a buffet ($35 each).  Please register if you plan to attend as we need to provide the restaurant with a count because there is a minimum we need to spend to secure the private room

Thereafter, you may enjoy Town Day on your way back to your vehicle.
Everyone’s prompt response to all of the above would be greatly appreciated.

For those needing accommodations for the weekend, these are the recommented hotels in the area: One is where the Route 2 bowling alley / Arthur D Little used to be and the other is further down on the other side of Fresh Pond Mall (still on Rte 2) both near Alewife T Station to go into Harvard Square or Boston if you desire.

Someone will be going in and asking about a block of rooms if enough people are interested. We wanted to make sure that someone who might be using them says that they are ok.  There are about 10 who were interested in a hotel from the survey.

Everyone’s prompt response to all of the above would be greatly appreciated.

Registration on our website: https://www.arlingtonma1964.org/ .  On the left, the 3rd item is 60th Reunion Registration.
