DANIEL AHERN Obituary
 
AHERN, Daniel 68, passed away suddenly Friday, January 9, 2015, at his home in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was raised in Arlington. He was the oldest son of the late John "Red" and Dorothea (Murphy) Ahern. Dan was also predeceased by his sister Terry Spellman. He is survived by his wife June Ahern of Florida, his brother Tim and his wife Linda of Woburn; his sister Marie Ahern of Marshfield; his sister Kathy and her husband John Hughes of Weymouth; his brother Fr. Jack Ahern of Dorchester; his sister Irene and her husband Rich Cowdell of Lynn; his brother-in-law Bruce Spellman of Woburn; Dan also is survived by his children Sean and Ruth Ahern of Arizona; stepsons John Graham and Donald Cowling of the United Kingdom, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in St. Margaret's Church of Blessed Teresa Parish, 800 Columbia Road in Dorchester on Saturday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Florida.

Danny, I have been looking for you on our post, but didn't want to find you here 'in memory'. I have fond memories if you in home room for all four years. You always made me laugh! Rest in peace, Danny.

Rest in peace my friend.  We were neighbors in the Veterans' Housing Project and lived right across the street from each other.  We were in grades 1 through 12 together and shared many wonderful memories of the project kids.
